Two-piece and three-piece wheels aren't single units — each component needs individual attention. We fully disassemble, refinish every piece, replace hardware, and reassemble to factory spec.
Two-piece wheels consist of a cast or forged center bolted to a spun aluminum barrel. Three-piece wheels add a separate inner and outer lip, held together with stainless barrel bolts and silicone sealant. Brands like HRE, BBS, Work Wheels, Vossen, ADV.1, and Rotiform use this construction to allow custom widths, offsets, and mixed finishes.
Because each section is a separate piece, restoration is a completely different job than single-piece refinishing. The wheel must be fully disassembled, each component stripped and refinished independently, and then carefully reassembled with new hardware and fresh sealant. Attempting to refinish a multi-piece wheel assembled — or with a single-piece shop — risks hardware damage, leaks, and mismatched finishes.
One of the main reasons people choose multi-piece wheels is the ability to run different finishes on each component. Here's what we work with.
The classic look. Mirror-polished outer lip with a gloss, matte, or custom-color center. Timeless on BBS, HRE, and Work-style fitments.
Full chrome or 24K gold-effect plated lip with a contrasting painted center. High-impact, show-quality finish.
Every piece painted — same color or two-tone. Candy, satin, matte, gloss, or color-shift. Full creative control per component.
Need your factory multi-piece wheels looking brand new again? We match original finishes precisely — machined faces, painted centers, factory hardware torque specs.
Every multi-piece restoration follows the same thorough steps — no shortcuts.
Every barrel bolt is removed. Lips, center, and barrel are separated. Old sealant is fully stripped from all mating surfaces.
Each piece is chemically stripped or media blasted down to bare metal. Surfaces are prepped and primed individually.
Centers are painted or powder coated. Lips are polished, plated, or painted per your spec. Barrels get their own treatment.
New stainless or titanium barrel bolts are installed to manufacturer torque spec. Old hardware is never reused.
Fresh silicone bead sealant is applied to all mating surfaces before reassembly. No leaks, no air loss.
Each completed wheel is balanced and pressure tested. Full visual inspection before it leaves the shop.

Multi-piece restoration is labor-intensive — pricing reflects the full disassembly, per-component work, and new hardware. Final quote after inspection.
Prices are per wheel. Set-of-four discounts available. Hardware replacement included in all packages.
Multi-piece restoration quotes require an in-person inspection or detailed photos. Submit a request below with your wheel brand and what you're looking for — we'll call back within 1 business hour.
Look at the back of the wheel. A 2-piece wheel will have a visible bolt ring where the center disc meets the barrel. A 3-piece wheel will have two bolt rings — one attaching the outer lip to the center section and one for the inner barrel. You can also check the brand name: HRE, BBS RS/E88, Work Meister, Vossen Forged, and ADV.1 are almost always 3-piece. Many Rotiform and Avant Garde styles are 2-piece.
Not properly. The lip is bolted and sealed to the barrel — you can't get full coverage or a clean finish line without taking it apart. Shops that try to mask and spray assembled multi-piece wheels always leave witness lines and uneven coverage. We do it right or we don't do it.
Yes, always. Old barrel bolts are single-use items — once torqued and removed they should not be reused. We include new stainless or grade-matched hardware with every multi-piece restoration. Hardware cost is built into the quote.
Most full-set restorations are 5–10 business days depending on finish complexity. Polish-only lips are faster; chrome plating or custom powder coat adds time. We'll give you a firm timeline with your quote.
